St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog Program Teams are made up of evaluated dogs with certified volunteers. Improving lives on a daily basis, the program brings joy and comfort to the sick, lonely and those in need of a friendly visit. It is continuing to expand as communities recognize the special contributions that caring, four-legged volunteers can bring to all ages. Does your dog have what it takes to be a Therapy Dog? St. John Ambulance York Region, which has served the communities of York Region for 25 years, is holding its first annual charity dog walk day "PUTTS 4 MUTTS" in support of our THERAPY DOG program on Sunday November 12th, 2017 between 9am-2pm at the prestigious Angus Glen Golf Club, 10080 Kennedy Rd, Markham, Ontario. Have you ever wanted to bring your dog to a prestigious Golf Course? Here is your chance. With games, prizes, 50/50 draw, vendors and great food, this event has it all if you like dogs. The event will also include a demonstration by York Region Police K9 units.
Due to inclement weather, this event will be held in a heated covered tent. 100% of the proceeds will be directed to the SJA Therapy Dog Programs across York Region. Interested vendors are welcomed to participate. Vendor package info available is here: www.SJAyork.ca/putts4mutts
Improving lives on a daily basis, St. John Ambulance THERAPY DOG Program brings joy and comfort to the sick, lonely and to those in need of a friendly visit. This community service is unique to St. John Ambulance Canada and is delivered by Therapy Dog teams, who in 2016, 143+ York Region teams visited 4,634 clients in hospitals, retirement residences, care facilities, schools and universities. Our four-legged volunteers are always greatly appreciated. See our Therapy Dog Services for more info.
St. John Ambulance was established in Canada in 1883 and enables Canadians to improve their health, safety and quality of life by providing training and community service. The York Region Branch, in operation since 1991, provided First Aid training to over 6,500 people in 2016 while volunteers gave 74,500 hours of service.
In addition to Branch’s Therapy Dogs, our volunteers also provide Medical First Response services at events; youth leadership programs; and child car seat safety clinics in addition to providing support regional emergency management efforts.
Past major assistance includes the 2017 Invictus Games, 2015 PanAm / ParaPan Games, the 2013 Special Olympics and the December 2013 Ice Storm.

On Sunday, November 12th, 2017, St. John Ambulance of York Region will be holding its 1st Annual “Putts 4 Mutts” Dog Walk Day. (See the enclosed poster -or- request a colour poster here: www.SJAyork.ca/putts4mutts). All proceeds from the event will go towards helping the St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog Program.
This walk and learn event will take place from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm at the prestigious Angus Glen Golf Course in Markham. The general public will be invited to bring their beloved dogs to walk through the beautiful grounds of the North Course at Angus Glen
We hope that this event will attract a large demographic of dog owners and families. This could be a great venue for you to showcase your business to York Region pet owners. You and your business can participate in any and/or all of the following ways:

Help advertise “Putts 4 Mutts” by displaying the enclosed poster in a highly visible area of your business.

Join Us! Purchase a 10x10 booth space for the introductory low rate of $99. Use the exposure to advertise your business, give out samples and get to know potential customers. (Limited availability)

Provide a gift basket or prize item to be used as a prize or raffle item on the day of the event.
