St. John Ambulance in York Region
Established in 1991, St. John Ambulance, York Region is one of the largest Branches in Canada encompassing 9 Municipalities North of the city of Toronto with over 650 volunteers!
As our primary mission is to provide Canadians with high quality FIRST AID training courses to public and businesses, we also provide a wide variety of community services through our volunteering programs.
In order to provide community support for such a large region, we currently have 4x ADVANCED MEDICAL FIRST RESPONDER, 4x YOUTH Program, 4x THERAPY DOG and 1x CAR SEAT CLINIC Team Divisions working together under one Branch. Our NEW "AMBASSADOR & EDUCATION" Division is now being created and will be launched soon!

Since 1884 the St. John Council for Ontario has been the provincial arm of St. John Ambulance, a worldwide, humanitarian, federally registered charitable organization dedicated to the service and well-being of others. St. John delivers quality community service and training through its 30 branches, 1,000 nationally certified instructors and over 5,000 volunteers in Ontario.
As Canada’s recognized leader in first aid, St. John, this year alone, has trained over 134,000 students in Ontario in essential first aid & healthcare related skills. Our modern and innovative courses are designed for students of all ages and from all walks of life.
St. John Ambulance is recognized for its leading edge services and we understand the importance of investing in the communities in which we live and work. Through partnerships with businesses, community groups and government we are achieving better solutions to evolving health care challenges.
Our services to the communities in Ontario include:
Medical First Response services at major events, sporting and recreational events, and in times of disaster or civil emergency;
Therapy Dog services in hospitals, long-term care and retirement facilities, educational institutions and libraries;
Student-based emergency response teams at colleges and universities;
Child Car Seat Safety Education teams;
Ground Search and Rescue teams;
Summer safety teams;
Youth health & safety programs which attract young people of all ages;
Home Caregiver Support Programs to assist non-professional caregivers that are dealing with end-of-life care of loved ones.

Since 1883, St. John Ambulance has been ensuring the safety and well-being of Canadians.
